How can I change my Order ID's? (Shopify Classic Admin)

By default, order id's are given the format #1001, and the number part is incremented for each order.

You can change #{{number}} to another format such as ##{{number}} or ID{{number}}, but {{number}} should always remain as this increments your Order ID's automatically.

If you need to change this, you can do so with the following steps:

Locate your Preferences, then General Settings

Scroll down to Adjust your standards and formats and find the formatting link beside Order ID and click

How can I change my Order ID's? (Shopify 2 Admin)

By default, order id's are given the format #1001, and the number part is incremented for each order.

Your Order ID is formatted like so in your settings: #{{number}}. You can change this to another format such as ##{{number}} or ID{{number}}. But the {{number}} part should always remain, as this increments your Order ID's automatically.

If you need to change the format of your Order ID, you can do so with the following steps:

1. Log in to your shop admin and go to Settings > General.

2. Scroll down to Standards and formats and find the Order ID heading. Click the change formatting link.

This will reveal the order ID formatting.

Make your changes to the Order ID. Remember to keep the {{number}} part, as this automatically increments your Order IDs.

Now save your changes!
